  2. Tracing Your Crest - REMEMBER TO DO THIS ON YOUR GIF IMAGE - NOT PSD!
  4. Plaque - This will be used once we display your crest image
  6. Trace your Crest in Cut Studio - Some say doing the outline is the way to go!
  7. Time Frame on Project - Complete
  • Required Elements in Word
  • Completed Crest
  • Finish Tracing Outline by Friday in Photoshop and Cut Studio (if you have not finished in Photoshop - jump ahead to do in Cut Studio
  • Completed written Narrative by the end of Friday's class

Week Seven

Monday 10.13 - Friday 10.17

    1. Crest Project - We will be grading through the entire project - including:
      Complete
      • Required Elements in Word (10 points)
      • Completed Crest (75 points)
      • Traced Outline in Cut Studio (25 points)
      • Written Narrative (50 points)
      • Plaque (20 points)
      • ****TO DO***Each of you must save your Traced Outline of your Crest that you did in Cut Studio to the following directory:
        • P:\handins\Grapic Design Crest Project
        • Put it in the correct period folder (first or fourth)
        • In Cut Studio>File>Save As>Last Name_Crest - then put in P:\handins\Grapic Design Crest Project
    • Upon Completion of the above and until we get in the art room - do in order:
    • If you have jumped ahead, just go back and finish what you skipped.
    • Manipulate Your Image (4 of you with a cool background - 10 points)
    • Gumby Space Project - include all the images - 10 points
    • Enhance Text - 2 points for each text image
    • Cut Studio Tutorial - 10 points
    • GD Liquify - 3 points for each liquified image
    • Elements Handcolor (if you are done with everything on your crest - you need to follow instructions! This will be two images when you are done ( The Chairs and your own) - 20 points - 10 each image
    • Coyote - Painting in Photoshop - 25 points - do it right!
    • Emoticons - 3 points each image (15 points)
    • Make sure these are on your worklinks

Week Eight

Monday 10.20 - Friday 10.24

  1. Today we will begin:

    Crest Creation - We will be sending several of you at a time to go into the art room to begin the process of creating your crest

  2. Create an Ad 2008 - Each of you will be creating 3 ads for the Mail Tribune Create an Ad Contest. One each for Sunrise Tours, Sherm's Food 4 Less and Lazboy - Work on these and then go back and get caught up with your other work.

    WEDNESDAY - Rogan will be gone so we will be combining with Mr. Craft. Attendance will be taken in ......

Week Nine

Monday 10.27 - Friday 10.31

  1. Create an Ad 2008 - All Ads are due this Friday by the end of class - ads that are not complete by that time will be marked late and will receive 1/2 the point total
  5. THURSDAY 4TH Period - We will all be in the Art Room hanging with Crafty!

SUPER IMPORTANT All of you need to save your ads to the following directory: P:\handins\Grapic Design - Craft\create an ad

  • I need the image - not the psd.
  • Save each as company name_last name - for example:
  • sunrise_rogan
  • food4less_rogan
  • lzyboy_rogan

THIS MUST BE DONE BY FRIDAY - All Ads are due this Friday by the end of class - ads that are not complete by that time will be marked late and will receive 1/2 the point total

Monday 11.3 - Friday 11.7

  1. We have 11 days left in this trimester and each member of our class is in a different position.  Some have worked hard to stay on top of daily work and have linked their assignments up diligently, others have strayed from this and find themselves in an uncomfortable position with a lot of work to either do or link up.

    With Powerschool available, you should know where you stand.  All work will be graded, so if you fail to complete an assignment you will be given a 0.  Also,your work needs to be linked as images (file>save for web), if they are not, they will result in a much lower grade.

    In order to have me grade or regrade your assignment you will need to:

    • email me - mike.rogan@district6.org
    • subject - regrade
    • in the body of the assignment, list the assignments by assignment name you wish for me to regrade. 
      •  ie. regrade manipulate, coyote and emoticon.
      By sending me an email, there is a record of you asking me to regrade.

    Info about the next 11 days:

    • You will need to finish painting your crest completely
    • I will be grading Spooky Tomb and Scary Poster - CSB Ghost will be extra credit (only if you have everything else turned in)
    • I will be putting a final up on Monday of next week that will include both Photoshop and Dreamweaver
    • I will be putting some other extra credit assignments up next week for those that finish up all other work.
