    • Consider the source. Make sure the article comes from a reputable publication
    • In a Word doc, Do the following:
      1. Insert the URL to the article
      2. Include the name of the publication, the title of the article, and the date
      3. Summarize the article – cover the who, what, when, where, why
      4. What interests you about the subject matter in the article?
      5. If the article addresses a controversy, where do you stand? What's your opinion?
      6. Analyze the business – would this type of business work in Southern Oregon?

  3. Worklinks update - put an anchor on your page to Trimester 3 - DO NOT MAKE A NEW WORKLINKS OR MOVE TO A NEW FOLDER - we have them linked to our spreadsheet for grading.
  4. Current Events - For those of you in the room not testing -
    • Period 2 will be used to research the tragic events from the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. We would like you to use the time as if your job was to research and report on the events at hand. You will be writing as if you were a reporter for a large metro publication (NY Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, etc.)
    • Period 3 will be to put your research into writing
      • Each of you will be responsible for a 1 page story written in Word - it must be a full page in Word - use at least 2 columns - include at least 3 pictures
      • Visually this should look like a Newspaper
      • You must take the reader through the 5 W's
