Feadship: De Voogt Naval Architects

Since first setting foot on a houseoat at five years old, I realized my dream. It has progressed through the years from constructing those 50-foot behemoths on pontoons to designing the sleek cutting edge crafts reserved for the wealthy known as motoryachts.

Feadship is a alliance of Koninklijke De Vries Shipyard, Royal Van Lent Shipyard and De Voogt Naval Architects; a co-operation that has lasted over a century. Being more of a designer, I would like to go and work for De Voogt.

De Voogt's technical specialists cover every discipline of yacht engineering and yacht design: naval architecture, mechanical engineering and interior design drawing. The close relationship between De Voogt and the De Vries and Van Lent yards ensures a fundamental understanding of the construction techniques of the builders as well as the utmost quality in design, engineering and construcion. In addition to designing yachts in the classic Feadship tradition, De Voogt is increasingly asked to develop revolutionary new concepts.

Lürssen provides many services; they are most widely known for their hand in the production of the world's largest megayachts including the newly launched Dubai:

The Dubai was built by Blohm & Voss in conjunction with Lürssen before being moved to and finished at Platinum Yards in the U.A.E. The vessel is owned by a Dubai-based monarch, and is currently the world's largest yacht.
